ADCA Music Festival September 19th, 2017 Learning Outcomes: 4. Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. 5. Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaborative. ADCA Music Festival takes place in Lima every year, and it's a place where many different students from ADCA Schools who are passionate about music come and perform the pieces they had been practicing. I participated as part of the strings ensemble. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would say that I have had great opportunities, being able to be part of the school's strings ensemble and participate in different events related to music since 9th grade such as School concerts, SAAC Fine Arts Festival, and ADCA Music Festival. My participation in school concerts show my great commitment and interests towards violin and music, as I was not required to play in the concerts since I was not part of the MYP Strings course. I'm really glad that I'm able to be part of these groups and represent our school outside. As I became a junior, I started being busy with DP courses and huge amount of tasks that I had to complete. But still, I didn't want this busyness to make me lose my passion towards music and violin. So I answered right away that I would love to when Ms. Mestanza, the music teacher, asked me if I wanted to participate in ADCA festival. However, there were challenges that I faced because of this overlap of school work with commitment towards ADCA. Ms. Mestanza wanted the students who would participate in ADCA to get together on Mondays so we could rehearse, and because of this, I had to miss some of my club meetings and spend a bit less time on my school work. But I knew that this commitment would help me grow and improve, not only in terms of managing time but also in many other aspects, so I tried to do my best in both school work and this. After practicing and working hard for about several weeks, we performed, and the performance turned out really well. I was very proud of the work that we had done. I also loved how the music sounded beautifully when we played altogether, complementing each other. We all worked hard to achieve one uniform goal, and through the collaboration within the group, we were able to achieve it. My experience as a violinist not only helped me learn from the challenges that I faced during the process, but it also helped me grow as a person and as a learner and become an enthusiastic member who's willing to collaborate. Roosevelt students play starting from 43:20
