This concert was my last concert at FDR. I didn't really feel sad or anything on the day of the concert, because I didn't know if I was leaving for sure. But now that I know that I'm leaving FOR SURE, I wish I had played better. I wish I had practiced more and been well prepared, so I could have done a perfect last performance.
The strings ensemble played 3 pieces in total: Minuet and Galliard, Shut up and dance, and Christmas finale(with the band and choir). I thought we would be playing 1 more piece, but it turned out we were playing only those three. At one point Ms. Mestanza was going to make us play only 2 of them, because we kept on messing up with the rhythm when practicing. But in the end, we got to play all of them. Concerts always make me excited. Getting dressed all formal, going up on the stage, playing in front of the audience, them clapping, everything. Everything makes me thrilled. Now I got used to those, so I don't get as emotional as I used to get. But during my first concerts, SAAC 2016 for example, I almost cried after finishing all the pieces that I'd been practicing for over a month. Abbey and Donnie have always been there at the concerts, playing next to me. I think it's going to be weird to play in a concert where there's no Abbey and Donnie next to me playing. I'm going to miss them a lot. Ms. Mestanza as well. I'm going to miss FDR and the strings ensemble here. Even though we always had the least number of people in strings, I believe we worked the most and performed the best.

For the final concert of this year, we played four songs: Hallelujah, Itsumo Nando Demo, Over the Rainbow and Dry Your Tears, Africa. I played first violin part for the first two pieces, and second for the other two. All the pieces were familiar to me, since I've already played Dry Your Tears, Africa in SAAC this year and the other three pieces are famous. I think we did really well, especially compared to the concert that we did last semester and the one before. It sounded really beautifully. I liked it as much as the SAAC concert. This final concert was a bit more meaningful to me, because it might have been my last, maybe second to last, concert here at FDR, since I'm supposed to leave this country at the end of this year. I loved being part of the concerts in this school, and I will never forget Ms. Mestanza's face full of joy after each concert.
This was my second time participating in SAAC fine arts. It took place at our school last year, and this year it was at Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile. I've been waiting for this for a year, ever since last SAAC had ended. The teachers who came to this SAAC also came to our school last year as well, so I was really glad to see them again. Who would have known that I would get to know teachers from countries in South America? I still can't believe this. From March 31 to April 2, there was SAAC Fine Arts Festival happening in our school. I participated as part of strings; I played violin. SAAC, which stands for South American Activities Conference, is competition/festival between 6 schools in South America from Perú, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador. Sports SAAC like swimming, basketball, soccer, etc. are usually form of competition, but unlike these, what I did was fine arts festival. We all play together for the final concert.
